Sadhana · Seva · Siksha — one app for every ISKCON location. Follow the centers you care about, register for programs, sign up for seva and keep your sadhana — all in one place.
App: https://bhaktisanga.app (works in any browser; install it to your phone's home screen — no app store).
Getting started
2.1 Create your account / sign in
- Go to bhaktisanga.app → Login.
- Enter your email (or mobile number, where text sign-in is enabled).
- Check your email for a 6-digit code and type it in. Look in Spam/Junk too — first emails from a new sender often land there; mark it "Not spam" so future codes reach your inbox. (There's no link to tap — the code keeps you signed in inside the app.)
- New email → an account is created automatically. There are no passwords.
FAQ — I didn't get the code. Check spam for BhaktiSanga noreply@bhaktisanga.org (subject "Your BhaktiSanga sign-in code"). A code works once; use Use a different email to request another. The same address always gets the same account.
2.2 Onboarding (first sign-in only)
You'll be asked for:
- Your name, birth year
- Mobile number — used for text reminders and text check-in ("HERE")
- Your children — name + birth year for each. Children never get accounts; parents register and receive messages for them.
You can edit all of this later under Family.
2.3 Join a location
- Locations (header dropdown or
/locations) → Other locations → tap one → Join & subscribe. - Or open a location's invite link (
bhaktisanga.app/locations/join/<short-name>) — great for flyers/WhatsApp. - On the join screen choose your notification preferences (push / email / text) for that location.
- Leave anytime from the Locations page.
FAQ — Which location am I looking at? The header shows the current location's name. Use the location dropdown (top of the screen) to switch. Everything — dashboard, classes, seva, admin — is for the selected location only.
2.4 Install the app & turn on notifications
Step-by-step with pictures for iPhone, Android, iPad and computers: bhaktisanga.app/install.
- iPhone (Safari): Share → Add to Home Screen. Android (Chrome): menu → Install app.
- Notifications (bell icon): toggle This device on to receive push. Under By location, pick Push / Email / Text per location.
- Push is the default channel for reminders; email is the fallback.
2.5 Security: Face ID / Touch ID & app lock
- Security (
/security) → Add this device → registers a passkey. - App lock: turn on to require Face ID/fingerprint when opening the app (re-locks after 60 s in the background).
- Sign in with Face ID: on the login screen, tap Sign in with Face ID on a device you've added — no code needed.
- Passkey sign-in requires an email on file; phone-only accounts should add an email under Family first.
Your account and features
Dashboard
Your home: upcoming classes and events for this location, quick stats (classes you follow, sessions attended, tests open, certificates), study materials, tests & questionnaires, and family attendance.
Classes (Courses & Events)
- Four kinds: ongoing weekly classes, fixed series, one-time events (festivals, competitions) and yātrās (multi-day pilgrimages with travel and contribution).
- Open a class → Register → tick Who's attending? (yourself and/or children) → confirm.
- Some events show "No registration needed — just come!" Others may have a contribution: the class page shows How to pay, a payment link and payment due by. Admins mark you Part paid / Paid in full.
- Registration closes and seat limits are shown on the page; once seats are gone, registration stops.
- Every class/event has a public share page (
bhaktisanga.app/join/<location>/<class>) with the artwork, details and an Enroll your family — it's free button. Use the Share buttons (WhatsApp / system share / Facebook).
Check-in (attendance)
Three ways to be counted at a session:
- Scan the QR shown at the door → Hare Krishna — you're in!
- Open Check-in in the app → Which class? → Who's here? → In person / online.
- Text
HEREto the location's class number when you arrive (needs your mobile on file). Parents can check in their children from the same screen.
Seva
Location volunteers post seva needed per program (e.g. Flower garlands — 3 people). Open Seva, read What it involves, and tap to sign up. You'll see your commitments and can withdraw.
Sadhana
A private daily journal: rounds chanted, streaks (Days in a row), totals (Altogether, so far). Includes short readings — What a round is, Why sixteen, The four regulative principles, On taking shelter and initiation, Who to speak to. Only you can see your sadhana.
Family
Edit your name, birth year, contact & reminders (email, mobile), and children (add/edit). Reply STOP to any text to opt out; START to resume; HELP for help.
Quizzes & questionnaires
Teachers publish tests (auto-marked multiple choice, optional written answers with a pass mark) and questionnaires (no right answers — reflections/surveys). Open from the dashboard, answer, submit. Scores and needs grading status appear on your dashboard; written answers are graded by a teacher.
Materials
Class notes, slides, audio, PDFs, YouTube recordings and links posted per class. Found on the dashboard under Study materials.
Certificates
Awarded by the location (e.g. Sloka Recitation — Level 1). Tap to print or save as PDF. Each certificate has a verification link (/verify/<serial>) anyone can open to confirm it's genuine.
Membership card
Card → a printable membership card with your QR for fast check-in.
FAQ
Do I need a password? No. Sign in with an emailed 6-digit code, or Face ID once you've added a device.
Can my child have their own login? No. Children live under a parent's account; the parent registers them, checks them in and receives their messages.
I belong to two temples. Join both. Switch with the location dropdown; your notification settings are per location.
How do I share an event? Open it → Share (WhatsApp / share sheet / Facebook). The public page needs no login and shows a proper preview card.
How do reminders decide push vs email vs text? Push first if the device is enabled; otherwise email; text only where the member chose it and has a mobile number. One exception: on the day of an event or festival, members who opted into texts get an SMS rather than an email — a same-day email is too easy to miss.
How is attendance recorded? QR scan, in-app check-in, teacher's Who's here? list, or texting HERE.
Are certificates verifiable? Yes — every certificate has a /verify/<serial> link.
Is sadhana private? Yes. Only you see your journal.
Which browsers? Any modern browser. Install to home screen for push notifications and the app-lock experience.
Something's wrong with my details. Edit under Family; if you can't, your location's Owner can Correct these details.
